Crafted by the renowned silversmithing firm William B. Durgin Co. of Concord, New Hampshire, this antique solid sterling silver creamer and covered sugar bowl set embodies the poised balance and understated refinement of early twentieth-century American neoclassical design. Established in 1853 by William Butler Durgin, the workshop built an enduring national reputation for master-level craftsmanship and graceful proportions, later continuing production as an elite division of the Gorham Manufacturing Company. Designated as pattern 612, both vessels showcase baluster-form silhouettes supported by stepped circular pedestal feet and flanked by hollow C-scroll handles that exemplify the clean architectural lines of the Colonial Revival movement. The unadorned, mirror-polished silver bodies highlight the warm intrinsic luster of high-purity precious metal, while the sugar bowl is fitted with a conforming domed lid topped by a classic urn-shaped finial.

The underside of each piece is stamped with Durgin's authentic maker's hallmark featuring the stylized script monogram within an oval cartouche, accompanied by the incuse sterling purity mark and factory model number 612, along with faint hand-inscribed jeweler inventory notations from historical appraisal. Both vessels remain in very good antique condition, exhibiting a gentle age-appropriate luster, fine micro-scratches from delicate past polishing, and authentic soft patina tucked into recessed seams. The covered sugar bowl measures approximately 4.75 inches in height, 6.0 inches in width from handle to handle, and 4.0 inches in depth. The matching creamer measures approximately 3.75 inches in height, 5.0 inches in width from spout to handle, and 3.25 inches in depth. Displayed together side by side, the set spans approximately 10.5 inches in width and has a combined physical weight of approximately 0.95 pounds.
